Time Required for 100% lethal dose for Drywood Termites at different temperatures.

116 degrees F

24 minutes

126 degrees F 10 minutes
130 degrees F 6 minutes

Temperatures are core of average 2x4 wall stud and 2x8 ceiling  joist.

The HEAT BLAST technology is a breakthrough in treating single family homes, condominiums, apartments, and commercial buildings. The HEAT BLAST process eliminates Drywood Termites, Wood Destroying Beetles, and other wood destroying insects. Entire structures or small areas can be treated in a single application of 6-8 hours, and there is no need to vacate for 3 days. There is also no roof or plant damage, thermal drapes are hung from the eaves, not draped over the roof , and specialized thermal blankets and wraps can protect sensitive items. Utilizing the HEAT BLAST technology along with Tim-Bor Professional for residual control, Team Too is able to provide double protection against termites and other wood destroying insects.

Highly trained technicians used specially designed heaters delivering up to 600,000 BTU's. The heat flows through Mylar ducts to the desired area of treatment. The HEAT BLAST process is monitored by state of the art digital and infrared thermometers and needle thin temperature probes. The core of the wood is brought to a sustained temperature of 130F for a period of one hour. To achieve the core temperature, the air temperature within the treatment area raises to 160F, no hotter than a sauna, or a closed car on a hot summer day. Laboratory tests have proven that 116F sustained for 24 minutes is lethal to termites. The heat generated by the  HEAT BLAST  system is not dangerous to the wood and does not deform or scar the wood or items in or around your structure.

In a five year study commissioned by the California Structural Pest Control Board and conducted by the University of California Berkeley, the HEAT BLAST technology was the only form of Drywood Termite control to be proven 100% effective in naturally infested materials. A gas fumigation was proven to only be less than 98% effective, utilizing double the average dose. With the use of the HEAT BLAST technology, entire structures, or small areas can be treated safely and effectively with a single application. Other alternative methods such as Freezing, Microwaves, and Electrocution, may be effective in limited areas, but do not allow for large areas to be treated with a single application.

PROVEN EFFICACY

In a five year study commissioned by the California Structural Pest Control Board and conducted by the University of California Berkeley, the HEAT BLAST technology was the only form of Drywood Termite control to be proven 100% effective in naturally infested materials. A toxic, deadly gas fumigation was proven to only be less than 98% effective, utilizing double the average dose. With the use of the HEAT BLAST technology, entire structures, or small areas can be treated safely and effectively with a single application. Other alternative methods such as Freezing, Microwaves, and Electrocution, may be effective in limited areas, but do not allow for large areas to be treated with a single application.

WHY HEAT BLAST IS BETTER

  • No Deadly, Toxic Gas.
  • No Moving Out.
  • No Odor.
  • No Roof Damage.
  • No Bagging Food & Medicines.
